If you enjoy werewolf stories and action-packed fantasy, I have a new concept that might pique your interest. Wolf Nation is a new twist on the folklore surrounding the supernatural curse of the wolf moon. The working draft of the script is finally complete and is now in South Africa with my incredibly talented partner on the project, artist Timothy Le Roux. I guarantee his work is going to blow you away! Our dream, of course, is to get this project to film. Hopefully now that we’ve signed the comic book mini-series with a publisher, we’ve made the first step toward that creative goal.

I have finally finished the final edits & revisions for the Dandelion script. I truly love the collaboration process involved in making comics, so I always leave a lot of creative freedom for my artist partners to interpret, expand, and reimagine scenes. But that often means a lot of edits and revisions to make sure narration and dialogue still fit the scenes and are properly sequenced in the new layouts. In this particular book the layout changes also caused some awkward scene transitions, so I needed to stitch those together a little tighter. Hopefully everybody will enjoy the end result!

After years of hard work, the art team working on the Dandelion graphic novel has finally finished! I have just received the fully colored version of page 150 (the final page!) and it looks terrific. Now I just need to revisit the script against the final page layouts, making any necessary edits and rewrites. Then I’ll hand it over to the letterer and very soon it’s off to press! Stay tuned for the official solicitation date from publisher Arcana Comics.
Kudos to penciler Sergio Apodaca, inker Jose de Jesus Salas, and colorist Mauricio Pinzon for their hard work and determination to finish this book! I will be forever grateful to each of you for helping me bring this story to life.

I’m extending an invitation to you. An invitation to join a writing experiment that I’ll be conducting right here. I’m going to start writing a young adult novel and serializing it online in this blog. I want to change the paradigm of the writer-reader relationship and actually get reader feedback during the writing process. So if you don’t mind reading an unedited manuscript in segments, please join me. I’d love to hear from you.

Illustrated by Freek van Haagen, digitally painted by Alfredo Lopez Jr.
Previously sold only at conventions, now available through IndyPlanet! This full-color one-shot features three stories from the hero’s early days that helped define who he is. You’ll enjoy some of Vanquish’s first adventures, discover key plot elements for the future of this heroic saga, and meet characters that will play key roles in the ongoing Vanquish series.
It seemed like a prank when officer Raymond Taylor responded to a call about a UFO crash, but the young policeman’s life changed forever that night. He opened a mysterious container found within the wreckage and unwittingly released an alien exoskeleton that permanently attached itself to his body. In time, he learned that this strange apparatus offered great powers—increased strength, levitation, optical energy discharge, and projection of three-dimensional virtual imagery around his body. Now Ray uses these powers to fight crime and help humanity as the costumed hero, “Vanquish.”
